«Bärnbiet» was composed for the Mittelland Music Association (MMV) to accompany the celebrations on the occasion of the 2020 Music Day in Hinterkappelen-Wohlen.

The content of the work is based on the folk song of the same name by Jakob Ummel (1885-1992).
The final part of the work can be considered a true appreciation of Bernese music:
Well-known themes from Bernese musical life come together to form a whole; Patent Ochsner's "W Nuss vo Bümpliz " appears , the group Span greets with " Louenesee " , framed by the folk songs " S'ischÄbe ne Mönsch uf Ärde" and " Du fragsch mi wär i bi " . Of course, a quote from the "Alten Bernermarsch " cannot be missed . The last word, however, belongs again to Jakob Ummel's " Bärnbiet " and ends solemnly with the words "Schöner cha's ja niene si".
