about the piece
The Creation by Joseph Haydn in a new sound
The human voice in singing form has always been regarded as the greatest means of musical expression. When this can be experienced as the choral sound of a boys' choir, the homogeneity of sound reaches perfection.
In the history of the development of instrumental music, the brass instruments of a brass band achieved a similar status. From the biblical announcement of the trumpets of Jericho right up to the present day, brass instruments have repeatedly signaled both the meaningful and the solemn.
It is obvious that the union of the two bodies of sound achieves a special, direct musical effect.
I let myself be guided by the idea of this homogeneous body of sound in order to “wrap” Joseph Haydn's oratorio “The Creation” in this sound garment.
