«Bärnbiet» was composed for the Mittelland Music Association (MMV) to accompany the celebrations on the occasion of the 2020 Music Day in Hinterkappelen-Wohlen.

The content of the work is based on the folk song of the same name by Jakob Ummel (1885-1992).
The final part of the work can be considered a true appreciation of Bernese music:
Well-known themes from Bern's musical life come together to form a whole; Patent Ochsner's "W Nuss vo Bümpliz" appears, the group Span greets with "Louenesee", framed by the folk songs "S'ischÄbe ne Mönsch uf Ärde" and "Du fragsch mi wär i bi". Of course, a quote from the "Alten Bernermarsch" cannot be missed. The last word, however, belongs again to Jakob Ummel's "Bärnbiet" and ends solemnly with the words "Schöner cha's ja niene si".
